Woozle-Goozle Chat+video app

Can a video library for a German TV puppet compete with YouTube and other streaming platforms? I designed this app some time ago. This case study revisits the project with an updated art direction.

Knowing that kids often watch their favorite videos repeatedly, we created a “Chat Room” with short trivia-style games presented as a dialogue, offering them another way to engage with the content they loved.

Boosted with the character’s 3D animations and prerecorded dialogs from the original puppet’s voice, the Chat room became a unique place where the younger audience would hold the illusion of talking to the real Woozle.

Woozle’s world is full of bombs, dynamite, and wacky inventions. It was a signature part of his character, and something I made sure to bring into my concepts and art direction.

Ideation Process

From the first sketches, I worked on the creative direction and the main app storytelling. Here are some of my first ideas, all tuned to match the character's personality.

I put a lot of myself into this project: from the first sketches and the core concept to the art direction, UI design, and illustrations, including badges, icons, and 2D effects. My greatest satisfaction was seeing kids “talk” with the character and engage with the experience in the way my team and I had envisioned.
